Before SDSU announced the decision to move up to DI, I was a casual Jackrabbit fan at best. Living 300 miles away and with a busy schedule, I only thought about SDSU athletics each Saturday during the fall (and only until hunting season started) and then again on Friday and Saturday nights during the winter months (except for that period when NCC games were played during the week).
More significantly, I only cut 2 checks a year, 1 to the Dept of Microbiology and 1 to the SDSU Foundation (not large checks either). Now, I am proud member of the Jackrabbit Club and I find myself checking this website and many others several times a day!! Not a day goes by that I don't think about SDSU, the Jackrabbits, and the excitment surrounding the move to DI.
More concerning, I considered naming my second daughter A.J. and I now have a tatoo of a rabbit on one butt cheek and I am entertaining suggestions for the other.
I believe any press/news is good news and even though the majority may not support this move, the minority who do support it will continue to support it with all their available assets. There is a bright future for SDSU, the alumni, and the state of S.D.
