The commissioner of the NCC was on television last night saying the conference was the best DII in the country. He also said with the leaving of SDSU and NDSU the conference would still be one of the best, if not the best, DII confernce in America.

Right! Perennial powers Augie, Mankato, St. Cloud, USD, and UNO will keep the torch burning!

The other way to look at the comments are in the light of the dimishining role that DII is playing. If you can lose teams like NDSU and SDSU, and still claim to be the best conference in the country, what does that say about the state of DII overall?
