SDSU sets graduation day record

* Nearly 1,200 receive diplomas, 800 take part in ceremony
South Dakota State University set a new record Saturday as nearly 1,200 students received their diplomas during the university’s 118th Annual Commencement, held in Frost Arena.
Around 800 of the graduates actually participated in the ceremony. They sat on blue plastic chairs that nearly covered the arena floor, while family and friends filled the rest of the seats to watch their loved ones file through and get their degrees from SDSU President Peggy Gordon Miller. . . .
Now all we have to do is get them all to join the Jackrabbit Club.
