WORM AND VIRUS PROTECTION!

A computer friend of mine advised that all Windows updates should be downloaded to avoid most virus and worm problems.  He said the little balloon at the bottomright corner identifies a critical update.

Some of you computer gurus, what do you say?

The critical updates are just that, critical. They're usually a fix for something that an unscrupulous person could use to exploit your PC.

You can scan for updates here- http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp or just setup IE to do it automatically. If you have the "Updates ready to install" icon in the lower right corner (i.e. taskbar) they're probably all critical updates and should be installed.
