This is interesting and judging from the background of the coach, SDSU will link up with a number of equestrian groups for support. Support that we would not otherwise have. Adding this sport will be a good thing to quote you know who.

SDSU picks its 1st equestrian coach
From staff reports
published: 9/1/2004
Megan McGee has been named head coach of the South Dakota State equestrian team, pending approval by the South Dakota Board of Regents.
McGee spent six years as equestrian coach at Fresno State, taking her teams to six consecutive Intercollegiate Horse Show Association appearances. In 2001, Fresno State finished fifth overall.
McGee is the first coach in SDSU's new program, which will begin competition in the fall of 2005. SDSU will also hire a full time assistant coach and a graduate assistant for the sport.
SDSU announced the formation of a women's equestrian team in April as part of an effort to become more compliant with Title IX rules. Equestrian, with a roster that could number as many as 60 riders, is a great sport in Title IX terms because it offers enough roster spots to women to help counteract football's large roster.
McGee resigned from Fresno State in August 2003. Since then has been a consultant for two firms, Ram Tap, Inc., and Montana Equestrian Events, where she helped organzie and manage equestrian events across the country.
