    Sarah Simet became the ninth player in Jackrabbit volleyball history to reach 1,000 career digs Wednesday against Dakota Wesleyan.

    Sarah Simet became the ninth player in South Dakota State University volleyball history to record her 1,000th career dig as the Jackrabbits swept Dakota Wesleyan Wednesday night at Frost Arena.

    Game scores were 30-19, 30-17, 30-14 in favor the Jackrabbits, who evened their record at 11-11. DWU dropped to 7-22 overall.

    Simet, a senior from Brookings, reached the 1,000-dig mark early in Game 1 and went on to finish the night with a match-high 21 digs and 1,017 for her career. She also shared team-high honors with three service aces.

    Offensively, 10 different Jackrabbit players recorded at least one kill as SDSU held a .314 to .024 advantage in hitting percentage. Sophomore middle hitter Carley Boll paced SDSU with eight kills and five blocks, while Kristina Martin and Minette Ridenour each posted seven kills. Ridenour contributed 10 digs.

    Starting setter Kristie Klusaw tallied 17 set assists and Stephanie Behm added 15 assists.

    For the Tigers, Jessica Callies notched nine kills to go along with 11 digs. Kayce McCutcheon added eight kills.

    The DWU defense was led by Mercedes Felix's 12 digs.
    SDSU will host its annual Alumni Match on Friday before returning to regular season action Saturday at home against Bethel University (Minn.). Action begins at 7 p.m. both nights at Frost Arena.

    DWU plays Friday at Hastings (Neb.).
