That is a heck of an idea! I hope a sports talk show catches on!

Is it an SDSU show, or all sports? Who will host it?

      Re: talk

I am happy to hear this. WNAX is a class act and I'm sure their talk show will be a success. Please update what Dr. Oien says in his interview, and let us know when streaming will begin.

In your sarcasm I sense a bit a fear ;D

Serously though, this is great idea. So far, nobody has been able to create the listener base the Mike and Craig have. WNAX will be able to reach a greater area and hopefully it will catch on and be just as successful and Craig and Mike's little show. In addition, they're already on SDSU's boat and therefore should give us preferential treatement!

          Re: talk

Steve Imming and Dan Peters will host the show, except on those weeks he is on the basketball travels.

              Re: talk

While the Craig and Mike show has been good I have been waiting for WNAX to step up and enhance their coverage. WNAX signal is expansive and goes all the way to the Twin Cities. I think Peters has done a good job as a sidekick. I think you all know how I feel about "Oh Man" or Jerry Oster.

                Re: talk

The thing I am happiest about is that WNAX, and any station for that matter, is returning to LOCAL programming! WNAX had a sports talk show of local origin before. "Sportsmax" with Tom Maxwell really got it's start there, before he moved back to KORN in Mitchell.

I think Steve and Dan will do a good job, and I wish them well!

                  Re: talk

I hope they get the streaming up and running. The only place I can pick up WNAX here in Rochester is in my truck and my commute is only about 15 minutes. Granted I could sit in the driveway and listen but thats not that attractive of an option.

Anyone listen? Got info on the format? Did Dr. Oien say anything new?

                      Re: talk

The format is sports news of the day, then the guest, then calls.
Fred was very positive about everything that is going on,...
                      including mens basketball.
He said they continue to move forward on facilities, especially for softball & baseball.
He said the fundraising is ahead of schedule, and they should be able to hit the targets.
No one called to dispute the move to D1 either..

I caught most of it, but never heard anyone even call in, maybe I missed it.
