I saw on the UW Badgers.com and I thought it would a great thing for SDSU and ndsu to develop a similar competition between the two schools. Obviously the the Dakota Marker was a tremendous success in football, so why not increase the rivalry.

WISCONSIN AND MINNESOTA COMPETE FOR BORDER SUPREMACY
The long-standing rivalry between the Badgers and the Gophers will now be recognized with an overall trophy presented by TDS telecommunications company. Beginning this fall, the winner of an 11-sport competition between UW and UM will capture the Border Battle Cup for display on its campus.
Points are scored by the winning team in regular season action in the sports of football, volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s hockey, men’s and women’s tennis, women’s soccer, wrestling and softball according to the parameters below.
Each sport is worth 40 points. If the teams meet just once (football as an example), then the winner gets 40 points and the loser gets zero. If the teams meet twice (women’s basketball, for example), the winner of each game gets 20 points and the loser gets zero. If the teams meet four times (men’s hockey for example), then the winner of each game gets 10 points and the loser gets zero. If a game ends in a tie, the points are split (20 to each school).
