            Re: Creighton - Baseball

After a number of games on the road and losing the first game 13-0 you would have thought the Jackrabbits would have been easy prey in game two. Not the case. The Bluejays did not take them lightly either. They pulled their starting pitcher in the top of the third with the Jacks leading 2-0. Senior pitcher Francisco Torres was always ahead of the Creighton batters in the count. Creighton finally tied the game up in the bottom of the 6th on a check swing base hit and an infield single and a couple stolen bases. The seven inning game went down to the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs and two strikes on the Creighton pinch hitter. Both Kasey Keller and Freshman Tyson Fisher had drives deep on the warning track that may have won it for State
The Bluejays are picked to finish 2nd in the Missouri Valley Conference preseason poll behind baseball powerhouse Wichita State. In this second game the Jacks looked and acted the part of a DI baseball team.
I am sure that Creighton will never take this Blue and Gold team lightly. The day is coming when the outcome of this game will change.

            Go State !!
