You will want to check out the Argus Leader tomorrow. They will have their special section on academic all stars. My pre-publication "spy" indicates that 24 of them are going to SDSU next year and 28 to the rest of Universities in the state combined. Last year we had 22 followed by Augie at 11 and USD at 10. Looks like another good year for SDSU in the recruitment of the states top students.

Re: SD Academic All Stars
What's even more amusing is USD only received 4 and SDSM&T only received 3. So much for raising academic standards and admissions requirements in order to attract a higher level student. By looking at the all-stars SDSU will get atleast 4-6 of the undecideds to push our total to 30 of 50. Not bad for the farm school."I'd like to thank the good Lord for making me a Yankee." - Joe D.

Re: SD Academic All Stars
I agree the SDSU Admissions Office needs to receive some credit. I think the real "difference makers" for the institution are the alumni. The Jackrabbit Guarantee has made an incredible difference in recruiting good students. The funds for the Jackrabbit Guarantee come from alumni and friends. Thus, the money given by generous alumni are leading more high school seniors to SDSU.
