SDSU plans to play more games in S.F., and maybe in R.C., too
SIOUX FALLS (AP) - Brookings may be home to South Dakota State, but Sioux Falls will be the Jackrabbits' home away from home more frequently as part of its move to NCAA Division I athletics.
Athletic Director Fred Oien said SDSU plans to take more events to the state's biggest city because of the high number of alumni. He said 5,000 to 6,000 graduates live in the Sioux Falls area.
The Jacks have already played baseball at the Sioux Falls stadium, and an Oct. 8 football game is on the schedule for Howard Wood Field. Oien said he's also talking to people about playing in Rapid City.
