Wesleyan hires SDSU assistant as mat coach

Dakota Wesleyan has hired Josh Hardman as its new head wrestling coach, filling a vacancy that was created this spring when Sean Ahrar resigned after just one season with the team.
Hardman comes to Wesleyan from South Dakota State University, where he was an assistant wrestling coach last season. He spent two seasons as the SDSU graduate assistant before moving into the assistant position.
He received his master’s degree in sports administration at SDSU.
Before his move to Brookings, he spent two years as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Manchester College of Indiana. Hardman was a two-sport athlete at Manchester, wrestling at 149 pounds and also playing receiver on the football team.
He was named all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conferenec in football and was a two-time NCAA Division III all-American in wrestling.
Hardman is a native of Constantine, Mich.
