This is a good story. I printed it out and read through it a couple of times.  Some things caught my eye which makes SDSU and UVSU an apple and orange, but there are some areas of commonality.

1.  The student activities fees have went from 50 to 85 bucks a unit.

2. No football

3. 24,500 students, of which one half are part time students.

4. Their budget went from less than a million to over 3 million and it does not state the time frame, but that covers the cost of 15 sports.

5. They have D1 competition in their backyard with BYU, U of Utah, Weber State and Utah State. all within 150-200 miles.

6.  What we do have in common is that both have administation who believe D1 is doable and they see it as a way to give certain areas of curriculmn better exposure.  UVSU, the article states has a great computer science major, and D1 has helped and they mention the success of basketball and their star Ronnie Price.
