Projects near completion at SDSU

BROOKINGS, S.D. - Crews are hustling to finish several projects at South Dakota State University before students return on Aug. 27. . . .

"It's been a busy summer for us," said Marysz Rames, vice president of student affairs.

The new Caldwell Hall will house 300 students in suites rather than the traditional dormitory layout. Other residence halls are getting updates, and the new student union will have almost twice the space.

It's not completed yet, they are still on schedule but finising up some of the last minute stuff. They have started to complete the dirtwork around the building, poor concrete, etc. so it is very close. As far as i know the building if full for fall so it will be done by then. It looks pretty sweet.

"Fall" (or at least the school year) is only three weeks away.

I assume the contract stated for the Hall to be done by early or mid August to allow the university to move in furniture, offices, etc.   I would assume any date later than that would be at the contractor's expense and would be completed ASAP as the company would start to lose money.  We all know how fast things can be complete then.  

Students can move into the residence halls August 27th.
Three weeks and two days from today. Classes begin August 30th.

From what I have been told the dorm furniture will be moved into Caldwell Hall next week.

My only question is what dorm the fall sports athletes will be in b/c the Young, Binnewies (sp) and either Brown or Pierson are getting new dorm furniture as well.
