CAMP RAPID, S.D. - South Dakota State University is set to receive an honor given to only 15 employers across the nation.
The Department of Defense announced in July that SDSU will receive the national Employer Support Freedom Award of 2004, given to recognize employers who give support to employees in the National Guard or Reserve. The honor, for which 1,492 others were nominated, is the highest award given by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve program. . . .
The Freedom Award will be presented by Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld at an Oct. 15 ceremony in Washington.
