IOWA CITY, Iowa — The South Dakota State University men’s golf team will enter the final round of the Hawkeye Intercollegiate in eighth place following second-round action Saturday at Finkbine Golf Course.
The Jackrabbits stand in eighth with 614 strokes, 56 strokes behind leading team Western Illinois. Freshman Trent Peterson leads the Jackrabbit squad in 14th place with a 146 (73-73). Junior Steve Klock is next on the leaderboard for SDSU as part of a two-way tie for 21st at 148 (76-72).
Other Jackrabbit competitors include Tim Kalil, tied for 42nd with a 157 (76-81), sophomore Ryan Trasamar with a 163 (82-81), and Brodie Hullinger with a 165 (83-82).
Sunday’s final round competition begins at 8:30 a.m.

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The South Dakota State University women's golf team is tied for fourth place after the first two rounds of the season-opening Hawkeye Intercollegiate.

The Jackrabbits' top four golfers were separated by three strokes through 36 holes Saturday at Finkbine Golf Couse. Freshman Holly Opatz led SDSU with a two-round total of 163 (77-86) to be part of a six-way tie for 17th place.

Kelly Evans was next for the Jackrabbits at 164 (81-83), followed by Lindsey Brown at 165 (82-83) and Kelli Endahl with a two-round total of 166 (79-87).

Dallas Willman rounded out the Jackrabbit effort with a total of 170 (87-83).

Host Iowa leads the nine-team field after firing a 612 36-hole team total. Missouri State is second at 637 with Northern Illinois in third at 639. SDSU and Ball State (Ind.) are tied for fourth with 654 team totals, followed by Eastern Illinois in sixth at 656.

Sunday's final 18-hole round begins at 8:30 a.m.
