    SDSU gets graduate nursing department
    Published: 09/1/05

A new school year at South Dakota State University will include a new graduate nursing department.

Sandra Bunkers, hired as a professor last September, will head the department. She previously worked as an associate professor at Marquette University. For 25 years, she taught at Augustana College, where she served as department head.

Twelve nurses will comprise the first class of students in the program. It takes three years to complete for full-time students but offers four- and five-year options for part-time students.

Courses will be offered Fridays and Saturdays in sessions at the new Health Science Center on the Sioux Falls USDSU campus.
