Davis named Co-Defensive Player of the Week
South Dakota State University goalkeeper Jenn Davis has been named the NCAA Division I Independent Soccer Co-Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts against the University of Oregon and Oregon State University this past weekend.
Davis, a junior from Kansas City, Mo., recorded 19 saves for the weekend and set a new University of Oregon Pape Field record by recording 14 saves against the Ducks. Davis shutout the Ducks in the first-half, saving six balls. Davis followed up her performance against Oregon by recording five saves in a loss to nationally-ranked Oregon State University.
For the season, Davis leads the team with a .783 save percentage, and has recorded 36 saves on the year.
SDSU, 2-5-1 overall, travels to Laramie, Wyo., this weekend for the University of Wyoming Cowgirl Shootout. The Jacks will take on host school Wyoming on Friday at 4 p.m. (MT). In second-round action, SDSU will take on the University of Nevada Sunday at 11 a.m. (MT).
