N. Colorado beats SDSU in 5

BROOKINGS – Northern Colorado edged South Dakota State 26-30, 30-26, 30-23, 30-32, 15-8 in volleyball Friday night at Frost Arena.
In Game 5, UNC (8-9) scored the first five points and SDSU (9-11) got no closer than three points. SDSU dropped to 1-4 in five-game matches this season.
Freshman Laura Slagter had 10 digs, 20 kills and a .425 hitting percentage for SDSU. Sophomore Kristina Martin had 17 kills, freshman Mackenzie Angner 13 and sophomore Amy Anderson 11 with seven blocks. Kristie Klusaw had 62 assists and 12 digs, while Samantha Pearson had a career-high 28 digs.
