The Argus has a lot of coverage today on the changes in the collepe sports scene in South Dakota and the region including a major article on SDSU by Chris Solari.

I really did not learn anything new from these articles. In fact Mick Gerry's piece about the NCC and 2003-04 budgets are kind of misleading. He makes mention that UND and UNO budgets are double that of SDSU, but he fails to point out that D1 hockey represents a disportionate amount of these budget expenses. I  am sure Mick got his numbers from  a website whose name or address I dont recall, but its one that has been cited on several message boards. This unrecallable site is  one that is not up to date and it does not break the total expenditures down by individual sports. So the quoted numbers are meaningless in my opinion and they are used in a fashion that kind of makes SDSU a goat for going D1. It implies that SDSU may have gone D1 but are not spending any more money than D2 USD and Augie. Huh???????????????
