Iowa wrestler signs with South Dakota State
BROOKINGS, S.D. —Three-time state qualifier Seth Fischer of Merrill, Iowa, has signed a national letter of intent, indicating he will enroll at South Dakota State University next fall and compete for the Jackrabbit wrestling program.
Fischer has compiled a 92-25 career record heading into his senior season at Le Mars High School, including two consecutive seasons of 30-plus victories. He earned fifth-place honors last season in the heavyweight division at the Iowa state tournament. Fischer, who is expected to wrestle heavyweight for the Jackrabbits, also is a two-time Lake Conference tournament champion.
The South Dakota State University wrestling team will travel to Omaha, Neb., Saturday for the Kaufman/Brand Open.
