Jackrabbit riders drop dual at Baylor
WACO, Texas -- Abby Knobbe shared high-point honors in Western horsemanship as the South Dakota State University women's equestrian team fell 934-743 Friday to Baylor in a dual featuring a pair of first-year varsity programs.
Knobbe, a freshman from Dodge, Neb., scored 72.5 points in Western horsemanship, sharing the title with Baylor's Nicole McCoy. The Bears won both the English and Western classes to take the dual.
In English competition, Allison Carie and Kaylee DeVries were the top SDSU finishers. Carie scored 60 points in equitation over fences to take third, while DeVries was third in equitation on the flat with a score of 66.
SDSU closes out its fall season Sunday by traveling to Nacodoches, Texas, for a dual against Stephen F. Austin.
