A new book of South Dakota State University history tells the school's story with an emphasis on photos.
"South Dakota State University: A Pictorial History 1881-2006," was written by John E. Miller, SDSU emeritus history professor. It contains about 250 photos, 25,000 words of text and 10,000 words in captions, Miller said.
SDSU commissioned Miller to write the book, which helps the school mark its 125th anniversary. The university was founded in 1881, although the first classes did not meet until 1884........
