    Mark Garrigues broke an eight-year-old
SDSU record in the 200 individual medley Friday night.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Mark Garrigues set a South Dakota State record in winning the 200-yard individual medley Friday night during a double dual with IUPUI and Saint Louis.

A freshman from Yakima, Wash., Garrigues clocked a winning time of 1 minute, 55.56 seconds, eclipsing the previous record of 1:55.86 set by Bo Meredith in 1998. Despite Garrigues' strong performances the Jackrabbits came out on the short end, falling 81-30 to IUPUI and 81-24 to Saint Louis. Host IUPUI edged Saint Louis 59-54 to sweep the double dual.

Other top performances they the SDSU men included fourth-place finishes by Cade Roberts in the 200 freestyle, 1:51.22, and Brandon Maydew in the 50 freestyle, 22.86 seconds.
