    Oakland wins seventh-consecutive Mid-Con Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships
    INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – The Oakland University men’s and women’s swim squads claimed their seventh-consecutive Mid-Continent Conference Swimming & Diving Championships with a dominating performance at the IUPUI Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI in Indianapolis, Ind.

    The OU men finished with 1,013.0 points, just 29 points shy of the Championships record, on their way to the crown. The 533.0-point margin over second-place IUPUI (480.0) is the largest margin of victory in conference history. Western Illinois checked in at the third position with 433.5 points, while Eastern Illinois (421.5), Centenary (344.0), Valparaiso (303.0) and South Dakota State (254.0) round out the men’s side of the standings.

    Oakland’s women’s squad accumulated 970.0 points to top Eastern Illinois which finished second with 583.5 tallies. Third place belonged to Western Illinois with 548.0 points, while IUPUI (348.5) and Centenary (316.0) checked in behind the Westerwinds. South Dakota State (241.5) and Valparaiso (223.5) completed the women’s race.
    Obvious we have a ways to go in swimming & diving, but hopefully they're just the rabbit's nose under the Mid-Con tent and the rest of the Rabbit will be in sooner rather than later!
