Schools like UNC will always been on SDSU's football schedule and the Hamline's on NDSU's schedule will be going away soon forever. Next year NDSU is only going to play 2 non-DI teams and hopefully the number will be down to 1 or none after the transitions is over.
Honestly that is a pretty lame excuse, nobody forced you to schedule 4 Non D-I teams this season.  It was your home opener and you only got 839 fans.    NDSU should have done better then that.  SDSU scheduled one D-II team this season and had 2,117 show up to watch.

Now with that said it would be equally as asinine for me to try and draw any conclusion about NDSU and or it's fan support, based solely on that single game as it is for some Bison fans to do so based on our UNC game.

No need to worry about us we are doing just fine.

Total Home Football Attendance for 2005 season:

    NDSU - 84,962
    SDSU - 55,777
    Cal-Poly - 41,755
    UNC - 37,549
    UC-Davis - 31,685
    SUU - 15,839

    Go State!  ;D

P.S. If you want to look at one game, how about Missouri-Rolla, a D-II team, we drew 14,503 for that one?  What kind of analysis can you draw from that?  One I can draw is that we almost out drew SUU's season with a single game.
