  • D-II Presbyterian to D-I

Moving to the I-AA Big South Conference, according to the Bisonville thread:

    http://www.bisonville.com/cgi-bin/ya...num=1143732312

Here's a newspaper article link from the Bisonville thread:

Must be nice to be in the South where the lower D-I conferences are snapping up D-II schools as fast as those schools can get the paperwork into the NCAA. But noooooooo, we have to be in the Upper Midwest, where the only options (not counting the know-nothing NCC which ought to be a D-I conference already) are the weirdly travel-averse Big Sky and the seemingly feckless Mid-con, so we have to go out and invent our own $@!%@ conferences . . . >

Sorry, all, I just had to rant . . .
    "I think we'll be OK"

I think "gutless", not know-nothing, is the more appropriate word to describe the mentality of the NCC.

      Re: D-II Presbyterian to D-I

As some one over on Bisonville noted, Presbyterian is a member of the SAC conference that is all private schools offering maybe 20 scholarships at the D2 level, but they are located in the Southeast USA and seem to find tons of good athletes in Florida, Georgia and other more populated states. The SAC though low in scholarship numbers seems to have some darn good football programs.

This move could  help us fill non conference slots if nothing else. Gardner-Webb who upset UMinnesota  this year in mens BB came from this same conference.
