Student-athletes shine in classrooms
The demands of practice and travel have not kept SDSU’s student-athletes from excelling in the classroom. The more than 400 student-athletes at SDSU had a cumulative grade point average of 3.06 in the fall semester of 2005. More than 25% of those athletes have a GPA of 3.5 or better.
There were 23 athletes with perfect 4.0 GPAs. Another 86 have GPAs between 3.5 and 3.99. The highest team GPAs are women’s cross country and women’s basketball, both at 3.6 on a 4.0 scale. The men and women swimming and diving teams were recognized by the College Swim Coaches Association of America for their academic success
