SDSU wrestlers to compete in new conference

South Dakota State University is part of a new wrestling-only conference for NCAA Division I schools.

The Western Wrestling Conference will begin competition in the next school year.

Other schools in the WCC are North Dakota State University, the Air Force Academy, Fresno State, Northern Colorado, Northern Iowa, Utah Valley State, and Wyoming.

This is great news for the program. Neither the Mid-Con or Big Sky have wrestling and the program now knows where they will be competing. This should only help recruiting. Plus we have four former NCC schools in the conference. Should be fun to watch.
