    More on Dallas:

Former EPJ Star Mitchell Transfers To SDSU

BROOKINGS -- Former Elk Point-Jefferson standout Dallas Mitchell, who recorded a 68-10 record in two years at Minnesota West Community College, has signed a national letter of intent to attend South Dakota State University and wrestle for the Jackrabbits, the institution has announced.

He earned national runner-up honors at 184 pounds this past season, after winning the national championship his freshman year. Named the 2005 Minnesota Community College Wrestler of the Year, he will have two years of eligibility remaining. In high school, he was a three-time state place-winner, earning runner-up honors his junior year at Elk Point-Jefferson High School.

Other signings announced by SDSU were Mitchell's Adam Everson, who compiled a 123-15 career record at MHS, and Sean Flynn of Lansing, Kan., a two-time state place-winner at Lansing High School. Jeff Cooley, a transfer from Southwest Minnesota State, will also join the Jackrabbits next fall.

South Dakota State, which finished the year with a 7-11 dual record, will begin competition in the Western Wrestling Conference next winter.
