SDSU might have conference home

South Dakota State University came one step closer to finding a conference home Wednesday.
Now they best tidy the place up, as they're set to have some company.
Officials from the Mid-Continent Conference agreed to site visits at three prospective member schools — SDSU, North Dakota State and Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne.
The decision was reached at the Mid-Con president's council meeting in Chicago.
Representatives from all of the conference's current seven member schools will make a visit to Brookings some time in July or early August while it considers SDSU for membership.
SDSU Director of Athletics Fred Oien said the site visits were an important step toward finding the Jackrabbits a conference home.
"They want to involve all of the current schools, and they've given us a list of things they want to look at and people they want to meet with," Oien said. . . . (read more)
