Centa and Summer Bring Home World Championship Title
Kuna High School graduate Ashlie Centa, and her black and white Paint horse Designabreeze (aka Summer), competed in 17 classes at the PtHA World Championships from June 13th through June 22nd. She and Summer took on their first class last Wednesday, and won a PtHA World Champion ship title in showmanship. Showmanship is a class where the handler takes the horse through a designated pattern from the ground. The winner of the class has the best overall picture comprised of grooming of the horse, exhibitor’s movements, horse’s movements and interpretation of the pattern.
She and Summer have won world and reserve world titles (first and second place overall) every year since 2002. These titles include Youth English Showmanship, Youth English Bareback Equitation and Youth Western Bareback Equitation. And, Reserve World titles – English Disciplined Rail, Hunter Under Saddle, and eight other top ten placings. . . .
Ashlie will continue her riding career at South Dakota State University, where she will ride on scholarship on the NCAA Equestrian Team. Ashlie is the daughter of Andrew and Stacie Shaber. . . . (read more)
