SDSU's Farrell sisters win club national soccer championship

South Dakota State University soccer players Kerstyn and Kellyn Farrell helped lead the Colorado Rush club team to the Under-19 national championship this past weekend at James W. Cownie Soccer Park in Des Moines, Iowa. . . .
The tournament hosted the top 48 teams in the country and concluded the final leg of the 2006 U.S. Youth Soccer National Championship Series. The Rush won the USYSA Regional IV tournament earlier this summer.
Kellyn Farrell was named to the Division I all-Independent soccer team last fall after recording two goals and two assists on the year. Kerstyn started all 18 games for SDSU last fall, scoring one goal.
South Dakota State, which will begin play in the United Soccer Conference this fall, is scheduled to open it’s season Aug. 25 against Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Start time for the match against the Panthers is set for 6 p.m. . . . (read more)
