Jackrabbit volleyball team to scrimmage Tuesday
The South Dakota State University volleyball team will host an intrasquad scrimmage Aug. 22 in preparation for its season-opening tournament later in the week.
The Tuesday-night scrimmage is set for a 7 p.m. start at Frost Arena. A question-and-answer session with players and coaches will follow. No admission will be charged.
SDSU, which finished last season with a 16-19 record, will open the 2006 campaign by hosting the Jackrabbit Kickoff Tournament Aug. 25-26 at Frost Arena. The Jackrabbits will play four matches over two days, taking on North Dakota State, Weber State (Utah), Gonzaga (Wash.) and Washington State.
A complete tournament schedule follows:
Friday, Aug. 25
• Gonzaga vs. Washington State, 10 a.m.
• North Dakota State vs. SDSU, 12:30 p.m.
• Gonzaga vs. Weber State, 3 p.m.
• Washington State vs. North Dakota State, 5:30 p.m.
Weber State vs. SDSU, 8 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 26
North Dakota State vs. Gonzaga, 9 a.m.
Weber State vs. Washington State, 11:30 a.m.
Gonzaga vs. SDSU, 2 p.m.
Weber State vs. North Dakota State, 4:30 p.m.
Washington State vs. SDSU, 7 p.m.
