  • The Collegian's coverage of Jackrabbit athletics

Hi folks, Jeremy Fugleberg here -- editor-in-chief of The Collegian. Believe it or not, the students who run the paper actually use the Internet.

The media can really have an "ivory tower" mentality. That's dumb. We do what we do for you. For what it's worth, I'd like to avoid that mentality with The Collegian and how we stay in touch with all you folks.

I and Brian Kimmes, the sports editor, will be around here if you want to yell at us. Are we missing something? Give us a heads-up. Did we screw up? Tell us straight. Did we do a good job? Say so, and I'll pass it on to everyone involved. Believe me, a little positive reinforcement can go a long way with us.

    Let me have it.

I think you guys at the Collegian are doing a GOOD JOB covering Jackrabbitt athletics, especially the weekly spotlight on the athletes. Keep up the good work.

Kudos to the SDSU Collegian. I read the Collegian every Wednesday, and I am impressed with this years newspaper. I love the new look to the paper, and you all should be proud of the paper you put out each week. Keep up the great work . . . . I hope other SDSU grads are getting a chance to read your great work!!!

I am working on a story for the collegian about past great hobo day games. I am wondering if you, the knowledgable Jackrabbit fans, can give me information about great games. I am sure you all have favorite memories, but I am looking for information about outstanding football games, such as the '96 Hobo Day game versus USD. Sadly, I am but a 23 year old from the Twin Cities, so I don't have the rich Hobo Day history that many of you have. Please send me a message with any information you have by Monday, Oct. 23. Thank you very much and enjoy the Hobo Day festivities if you come to the game.

        Sports Editor
