fanaddicts?

I'm not a huge fan of the name given to the student section at all. It just seems to simple and not very creative. A few buddies of mine have come up with a new nickname for the student section, called the Frostbite. Which one do you guys like more?

give it some time, they will come around when the team starts to play better. I haven't been to enough games this year due to work so I can't say I'm not at fault here either

The sad thing is since I've came here 4 years ago the student section has only gotten worse. Giving it time is not working. Even for the women the crowd noise and crowd involvement is below average to say it nicely.

I agree, being in a confrence next year will definetly help though, and if we can get some guys on the mens team that actually stay for more then a year will help so we aren't playing freshman and redshirts all the time. I think a lot of it has to do with most of the students that do come, come for the social experience instead of rooting on their team. They don't pay attention to the game so its pointless for them to be there. You can usually spot this people because they complain about people standing in the front row. Its frustrating to witness the student section some nights

You want to help change this?  Get a group of your friends together even if you can't be there get some friends to stand in the front row.  That will make the rest of the west end of the student section stand.  If they bitch aka b1tch tell them you didn't come to a funeral.  Slowly they will get the idea.

every game i'm there i stand in the front row, my friends are always in the front row too, theres not any other way to experience a basketball game. they same thing happend at football games when we stood on the rail, people sat there and complained about it, but we are there for one reason and thats to root on the jacks

I like the name, but it is not up to me.  Contact Micah Grenz in the athletic dept. He would be the person to talk to about changing the name, officially.  He is very approachable and is always willing to hear ideas. Here is his email and phone number:

I like that a lot better than Fanaddicts. I don't much care for the "addict" part of that much as I don't care for the -holics part of the Augie-holics.

Frostbite is excellent. I'm emailing Micah right now.

I think the problem with attendence espesually the student section is who we are playing, ya we are playing d-1 competition but we are playing teams that arn't that well know. Also alot of sdsu's students live faily close and don't see a reason to stay on the weekend when they play texas pan america or indiana purdue fort wayne, nothing against the competition but until this team gets better and gets atleast one name a year to come to frost kids won't start coming to the small games. I do not attend SDSU but am a big fan and have friends that do attend it and they said that they don't publicize the games enough like when the women played usc my friends said the first they heard of it was on espn. thats just hear say though, my friends were probally really drunk or high so its not the most creditable people just what I heard.

The problem is most of them would rather: be on Facebook, playing PS2, drinking, or other stuff than go to a any campus event. Hell, no one wants to run for SA president. The students are getting apathetic about things. I definately applaud the 50 or so students that come to the basketball games, who stand, make noise, and look crazy.

I don't see the problem.
Use Frostbite for MBB, WBB, Volleyball, & Wrestling.  Coughlin Crazies sounds good for football or something else to the AD's liking.  I don't know if Baseball, Softball, etc, need a name?
