Noticed today that Senior Tyler Sorenson is ranked #11 in the country at 197 lb weight class.

My beloved Gophers would love to have Tyler in the 197 slot. They don't have anyone ranked at that weight class.

Tyler had a great opening weekend at the Daktronics Open. He went 4-0 at 197 pounds, winning all of his matches by Technical Fall and being named Co-Outstanding Wrestler.

Tyler's dad, Oran, was my wrestling coach in high school back in Dell Rapids. And it was always fun when Tyler and his brother Andrew would come up to our practice room. Even though I don't get to cover much wrestling outside of Madison, I always tried to keep up-to-date with how the Sorenson boys did at Garretson. Neat kids then and fine young men now.

Anyway, Tyler, if you're reading this... "Raging Bull" is proud of you! Have a great season!
