Good start for the Jacks. Cardinal with a pin and Carlson came back late to win. 13-3 at the time of this post. Decent crowd

Cody Donnelly, out of Phillip, SD, makes his dual debut for the Jacks and gets a spladle in for a pin. AJ follows with another pin. Jacks win the dual 42-3 and Mark Branch looks pretty cranky!

Believe he was available today… more of a rest thing I think.

I saw that the wrestling Twitter account had him listed as the projected starter before the meet started.

Cody Donnelly’s height is something to behold in person. Don’t see many 6’7” wrestlers

Imagine trying to shed his leg ride once he has a boot hooked, have fun with that

What a difference two days makes. Not a good match out of Carlson, and I thought that Jordan could have done better against a very good Jore Volk, but 8/10 wrestlers exceeded expectation some by a lot. It's great to see Swenson get a signature win. Great meet overall.

Carlson made a mistake getting returned directly to his back and then got gritty to win, you wouldn’t know a good match if it walked up to you and bit you in the ass

Carlson definitely wrestled hard to comeback and win after the 4pt move but that shouldn’t be happening to a wrestler like Clay. He should be dominating wrestlers like that. I’m with Wombat and you on it.

I agree it shouldn’t happen but these are all legitimate D1 level wrestlers, it is going to happen from time to time. Most important thing is when it happens is how does he respond, and Carlson responded just how you hope a Senior does, calmly, don’t panic, keep the pressure forward and continue to score points.

I don't recall that ever happening to me, but that may only serve to illustrate your point. I'll have to think about that. . . Maybe I'm not a good judge of performance, so I'll have to trust an expert like yourself when you say that it was a good match, but I do feel comfortable saying that it would have been an even better match if he avoided making mistakes that resulted in him getting thrown to his back for four points.
