Re: Sloan
Huge accomplishment for Sloan, he showed a great mentality and he did very well on his feet He also looks to have put on some good weight. There are some real bulls at 197 and any added size and strength will help him tremendously. Tanner is going to need those extra pounds if he runs into Brucki again.

Sloan earns spot on world team
RALEIGH, N.C. – South Dakota State University wrestler Tanner Sloan will represent the United States in international competition later this summer after winning the 97-kilogram division at the UWW Junior Freestyle World Team Trials over the weekend.
A native of Alburnett, Iowa, and a member of the Jackrabbit Wrestling Club, Sloan posted a 4-0 record over two days. Seeded first in the bracketed portion of the event, Sloan received a first-round bye before defeating Jake Boyd, 13-2, in the semifinals and Kyle Lightner of the Scarlet Knights Wrestling Club, 11-0, in Friday’s championship bout. Boyd competed unattached.
That set up a best-of-three series Saturday against Sam Schuyler of the Bulls Wrestling Club (Buffalo, New York), who defeated Sloan three weeks ago at the Marine Corps U.S. Open in Las Vegas, Nevada. This time, Sloan came away victorious, defeating Schuyler by scores of 7-6 and 6-4 to earn a berth in the 2019 Junior World Championships Aug. 12-18 in Tallinn, Estonia.
The junior division features wrestlers ages 17-20. Sloan redshirted for the Jackrabbits during the 2018-19 season, but posted a 24-2 record in open tournaments.

Sloan selected for Pan-American Championships
South Dakota State University wrestler Tanner Sloan will compete in a second international tournament after being selected to wrestle at next week’s United World Wrestling Pan-American Championships.
A native of Alburnett, Iowa, Sloan will wrestle in the 97-kilogram division of the junior freestyle competition June 7 in Guatemala City, Guatemala. The UWW Pan-American Championships feature top wrestlers in 10 different weight classes from North America and South America, with the junior classification for wrestlers ages 17-20.
Wrestling under the banner of the Jackrabbit Wrestling Club, Sloan also earned a spot on Team USA for the 2019 Junior World Championships Aug. 12-18 in Tallinn, Estonia, by winning his division at the UWW Junior Freestyle World Team Trials earlier this month.
Sloan redshirted for the Jackrabbits during the 2018-19 season, but posted a 24-2 record in open tournaments at 197 pounds.

Re: Sloan
I'm not sure, but it appears to me that Tanner is a lock to win his bracket. He has one bout left against a wrestler from Panama. Listed below are the records in the round robin format with two bouts to go.
Sloan (USA) 3-0
Randhawa (Canada) 3-1
Alber (Ecuador) 1-2
Torres (Panama) 1-2
Mendez (Costa Rica) 0-3
Sloan's 12-2 win over Canada's Randhawa was the key match for this bracket. That's pretty dominating wrestling.
