King of the Mat

It looks like the JWC is going to a tournament in Nebraska, King of the Mat. Has anyone hear of this tournament? Anyone know if there will be any other Division I schools there?

It sounds like the tournament starts at 9 AM CT. Coverage will be via Twitter and Flowrestling.

So... somehow Zach Price made 60 kg today that's 132.3 lbs. I think we've found our new 133 pounder!

The competition level was not great. The Jackrabbits in general did well. Freestyle results:

57 kg:

Vega won by fall over Justin Porttillo in the finals. He gave up a takedown and reversal before the fall. The score was 4-4 before the fall. Porttillo is a former Jackrabbit, that left for Grand View in the NAIA division.

61 kg:

Price beat Huffman 14-9 in the finals. Huffman is a freshman at Augustana.

65 kg:

Clay Carlson lost by fall in the finals against Wilson a freshman from Nebraska Kearny. Carlson had the only takedown of the match but got reversed and pinned.

70 kg:

Pohlmeyer lost by by fall in 20 seconds to Destin McCauley a former division 2 national champ in the finals.

74 kg:

Kenny O'Neil beat Matthew Malcolm, a D2 national champ, 8-3 at Nebraska Kearny in finals.

79 kg:

Sam Grove took 3rd.

86 kg:

Zach Carlson won by tech fall in the finals Rangel from Grand View.

97 kg:

Sloan won by tech fall in the finals against Gregory from Grand View.

125 kg:

Aarsvold won by fall over Wolters in the 3rd place match.
