Five national qualifiers so far (tie for most in program history):
Brown, Gross, Kocer, Rotert and Mueller. Pohlmeyer and Zilverberg would punch tickets with win in their third place match.

Zilverberg auto qualifier but Pohlmeyer gets 4th will have to wait until Tuesday when at-large qualifiers are named.

From a non-wrestler guy...how does Brown get in wrestling for 5th?

Each conference has a certain allocation for qualifiers for each weight class based on the quality of the wrestlers in that conference for each weight class. This the breakdown for each weight in each conference

Rotert with a mild upset, 3-2, over Jake Smith from OSU! Excellent weekend for Nate and I'm guessing this will help with seeding at the NCAA Championships.

Wow. Reading through the Twitter match updates for Rotert here at the Premier Center took me longer than watching a normal match! Another champion in seemed like two dozen overtimes!

Rotert with a mild upset, 3-2, over Jake Smith from OSU! Excellent weekend for Nate and I'm guessing this will help with seeding at the NCAA Championships.

Jake is from West Virginia and seeded lower than Nate. Jake defeated Weigel from OSU yesterday who was seeded #1.

Pohlmeyer has a decent chance of getting an at large bid, based on his season and placing one spot behind the automatic qualifying spot

Embarrassing sequence for the refs there. First they called stalling on WV wrestler in SV and incorrectly said that it was his second stalling point so WV had to challenge. Then they first raised WV wrestlers hand before realizing it was Rotert that actually won

Also during the 174 lb match the color guy had Lujan and Kocer mixed up for about an entire period.

I'm anxiously waiting for the at large bids to be announced. 33 wrestlers qualify at each weight class, and the auto bids have been locked up.

According to the NCAA:

The at-large selections will be made based on the following criteria: head-to-head competition; quality wins; coaches’ ranking; results against common opponents; RPI; qualifying event placement; and winning percentage.

At 141 Pohlmeyer is not ranked in the top 33 for RPI, nor in the top 33 of the coaches poll. He did finish 4th, with the top three qualifying from the Big 12 and owns a winning percentage of 71%, which bodes well.

He does own a pair of wins over Mike Longo from OU, (32nd in both RPI and coaches polls). A pin over #17/24 Nick Zanetta of Pitt. A 1 point loss to #7/11 Mason Smith of Central Michigan. A loss (3-9) to #9/12 Tyler Smith of Bucknell. A loss (4-13) to #11/15 Tommy Thorn of Minnesota. A pair of losses to Josh Alber from UNI who's also not ranked for RPI and coaches, but did get the third automatic qualifier.

According to FloWrestling Pohlmeyer will not be one of the six wrestlers to earn an at large bid.
