Re: Simpson College
Wasn't fun for Simpson (and coach Nate Hansen, who was on our staff for awhile), but it was fun to watch (and hear) the clinic that Coaches Bono, Silva and Sorenson conducted with our wrestlers when they were in matches. It was clear from the start that the emphasis was on takedowns, pure and simple. When Bubba Sims made the first takedown of the night, he was immediately told to "let him up and stay on the head". That was the theme of the night, and we had an enormous number of takedowns through the night, adding up to (I think) four technical falls, along with several pins. We're young and ostensibly have better recruits on the way.

Re: Simpson College
Simpson is NCAA D III. Simpson, for a small school, has had a very good tradition in athletics. I became aware of the school through track and field: Simpson's Kip Janvrin was a world class decathalete and an Olympian in the 80s-90s.

That fact would be better discussed over a brew...
