I guess I'm just a bit miffed if there really was only 1300 fans in attendance. I actually had courtside tickets given to me that I had to give away. But...at least I gave them away. It' really frustrating to see, especially the season-ticket holder side of Frost always about half(at best)full.
I guess this women's team just hasn't done enough to justify a decent crowd in a major pre-season tournament.

If you have season tickets...give the damn things away or sell them if you know you're never going to go. I know it does't produce anymore $$ for the Dept. but that's really not the point IMO...giving this teams an atmosphere that they deserve is my point.
If I was the WNIT I wouldn't give us the championship game...we as fans don't deserve it if there was really only 1300 fans that came out last night...IMO.

    Go Jacks!!
I own 8 season tickets. 6 of them were used last night, none by my immediate family. My 3 children are Junior Jacks but they need seats by me and I buy the others for extended family. My work schedule makes it nearly impossible to attend week night games and difficult to make weekend games. I had previously asked the ticket office to hold my tickets for others to use and for me to pick up when I could but they frowned on that. I understand it's extra work for them and not ideal. I wonder if there is a better way to get butts in those seats?

I brought this idea a couple of years back, and didn't get a lot of feedback, but I think it's worth re-visting.

I think a private ticket exchange for season-tickets holders would be something that would help. Especially if the money raised for the tickets that are bought and sold go directly back to SDSU Athletics and the season ticket holder would receive priority points. I suppose as a season ticket holder and the one who is selling the tickets, you could set it up so that the season ticket holder has the choice to automatically have the proceeds sent to the SDSU athletics or to their paypal account. I really think this could be something that could be linked up on GoJacks.com or even just get it going right here on SDSUfans.com.
Sorry SDSU athletic Dept. and Filbert if I'm overstepping my bounds there, but I just think this is a good idea and at least gives people a chance to get rid of their tickets.
I do think a lot of the empty seats are coorporate seating that never gets used, and the same companies would probably never take the time to use the exchange if there was one, so who knows.
Heck, they're the best seats in SD IMO, I just hate seeing them empty.

      Go Jacks!!

Doubt there are many (if any) fans on the board from Indiana, but if anybody on the board is going to the Purdue game, PM me. I suspect with the short timing, and the long distance, that few Jacks' fans will make it, but we will be there! Go Jacks!!!

I believe there are some compliance requirements that come up in this, not sure exactly what they are. It may be the reason that it isn't already done because I know it has been talked about by lots of other people (fans) in the past.

Per the AP top 25 poll

            http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/womens-...l/polls?poll=1

DePaul is 26th. They are the only team in the tourney championship side receiving votes. James Madison is still receiving votes.

Need to take out Purdue, and then win the WNIT pre-season. That would IMHO, start votes headed SDSU's way.

As a side note, AR-Little Rock, a team in the mid-major top 25 was annilated by Tx A&M (#8 AP) 87-41. Hope this means that SDSU has a good shot of a W vs this '10 NCAA 1st round winner.

DePaul 's the big prize as far as getting brownie points from the voters. They are poised to make an entrance into the polls.Win against them & Purdue, and we would solidify the notion that we are a darn good team .

Now that the the SDSU ticket office is using bar-code scanners at the gate it makes this idea possible. All tickets now have a bar-code that get scanned so if a duplicate ticket is printed, the first ticket's bar code is void.

Also, this should allow for printing tickets at home. Both of these features should allow us to have some sort of ticket exchange. Of course, season ticket holders and corporations would still need to let this "system" know their tickets are available and for sale. Not much different than handing them over to someone to use or buy.
