I am aware what preseason projections/predictions are, but thanks for your definition. As I stated in my previous post, they are both going to be very very good teams. My opinion is that I just don't see them in a top 10 at this point. That doesn't mean that they can't get there. Here are some teams I think that could be top 10 preseason (in no particular order)....
UConn, Stanford, Rutgers, Duke, Ohio State, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Xavier, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Baylor, Michigan State, Virgina

Of those teasm you listed by the of the year we can beat them all except for probably, UCONN, Stanford, Tennessee! They are just on a different level. last year we would have probably won the Big Eleven!

I may be posting out of defensiveness at your belief that Middle TN isn't a top-10 team. The Lady Raiders didn't lose a single contributing player AND added a top-30 recruiting class.

Meanwhile Baylor lost their top four players. Rutgers lost three of their top five. UVA lost two of top three. OU lost their dominant inside presence. Mich St barely beat Middle TN last year in the NCAA when playing on their home court.

I can easily make the case that Middle be ranked in the top-10. I actually put them at #8. No problem that you disagree. The joy of basketball is that it all works out on the court.

Pre-season polls don't mean to much anyway, as it's just someones start off point for the season, it is a nice little fearher to put in your hat, but to keep it you have to keep winning.Fans have alway's & alway's will argue the validity of polls, it's just the nature of the beast.

Okay, now I'm confused... . You started the thread with a legitimate challenge of the inclusion of a few teams in the top 10 and challenging the credibility of the publication that listed them, now you're agreeing with JackDaniel that this kind of pre-season predicting doesn't mean anything. If the latter is true, why start the thread?

Thanks for being concerned for why I post NoVaJack. But my last post of agreement was supposed to be sarcastic. Or did I change my mind after someone wrote something that made sense and helped me realize I liked the opposition's view better? Again, thanks for your concern.

I personlly think the polls have temendous value. Recruiting, school recognition, scheduling etc. I also think that once the lady Jacks were seen in the polls they had a little extra bounce in their step. Plus, the polls generate a significant amount of discussion among fans. Are the always accurate? No. That's why they play the games.

My wish is that we get to play against as many ranked teams as we can.Lot's of exposure,& it helps our rpi.Was reading the Gonzaga fan board,& someone said ESPN will be covering the Gonzaga vs Jacks game.Has anyone heard wether or not this is true?

quote: South Dakota State will be a tough season opener - especially on the road - but should be a good one! I believe ESPN will be covering that game as well...so anyone planning on making that trip?

In the article they list Cala Westergard as 6'5. Has she grown a few inches or is that a misprint? Also interesting Purdue and freshman South Dakota native Sam Ostraello nowhere to be found in top 25 preseason polls.
