AJ called off the dogs with 8 min + to go in the TCU game. Jacks didn't attempt another 3 from there to the end of the game. Otherwise, Jacks would have broke 100, and the NCAA record for 3's in that play-off game.

Interesting comment about you listening to the game on the radio. Just who will be the voice of the lady Jacks this year? Scottie is gone, Tyler is gone. Will WNAX take over the broadcast? Did Tyler also do VB last year? I think a quality play by play person really adds to the quality of the game and Tyler was good at it. The season will quickly be upon us and I ready for it.

I noticed the new freshmen players don't have a jersey number assigned to them yet.Don't want to start another uniform controversy, but maybe they had to order new ones?If not, i'll bet Leah gets Jenns old number 44 , since they're supposed to be similar players

I think this is not unusual, especially in circumstances where one or more of them will be redshirted. Plus, maybe the tailor hasn't stitched their numbers on yet.

My understanding is that the department has hired an outside contractor to create their media (coaches shows, etc.) and that person will likely also call the WBB and volleyball games. It's a really good move (our new AD has already made a lot of good moves). Basically, the department contracts with a company (same one UNI uses) that provides a media specialist, year round, housed in the department. Expect the amount of video content to increase now that it's not being created by a professor in his "spare" time (me, and I don't have any spare time).

This is a good thing. The department needs its own media specialist. When Micah Grenz and I created those coaches shows and the relationship between the MCOM Department and athletics a few years ago, our goal was that athletics would eventually have its own media people to create that stuff (with our students' help). It has happened more quickly than we had expected. Good stuff.
            Holy nutmeg!

I was looking at the Arizona statistics from last year and was surprised to find out that they'll lose 3 of thier top 5 scorers from last year to graduation.
That got me to thinking we could very well beat them this year even playing at thier house. The only bad thing is , they might have the best junior college player in the nation joining the team, but, she'll be relativly inexperienced playing with the team(good thing),it'll be quite a game!On a side note, i was going through the bios, & it struck me that Alison Anderson really reminded me of Ashlea Muckenhern from last yr, top reserve, great defense, can steal the ball from you the instant you get a little careless , good three point shooter, doesn't shoot alot, but shoots at a high percentage, lot of the jacks players contribute a lot to the team, but don't get enough recognition, un-selfish players who help make the team a huge success, hats off to them too!

I really liked listening to Tyler's play by play, he's the best i've heard in a long time, the best i think is when Kristin made her last 3 pointer vs. Minn., he blurted out " are you kidding me" ,"Kristin Rotert drains another three point bucket." Something similar to that , but the way he said it made me chuckle.

Four future SDSU players played in the High School all star game in Aberdeen , the North won over the South 59-56.Tara Heiser, Stephanie Paluch, & Katie Lingle played for the North,Ashley Eide played for the South.
Ashley Eide scored 10,Katie Lingle 11 , Tara Heiser 11, Stephanie Paluch 4.Not a high scoring game, so , not a lot of points scored. Here's a name some might remember, Kayla Warkenthien had 8 pts,& second in rebounds for the team, trailing Lingle.Good tough competition to help prepare the players to college ball, here's Ashley Eide's quote when asked about practicing with her team mates this summer" it's a much quicker, faster, stronger, game, everything is just going at a different pace than High School." If she can keep up with Macie & the rest of the team , i think she'll be just fine.

Looking at this years schedule, seems like the first two games are going to be pretty tough for a team with a bunch of new faces....talk about diving right in to the fray.Should be a good indicator how the season will go.Gonzaga is always a tough opponnent & Arizona State should be easier than the team from last year as they lose 3 of thier top 5 scorers to graduation, but still a tough team at thier home. Our last years players should be more mature & stronger, hopefully more athletic with thier skills sets, & ready to lead the team this year.Looking forward to seeing who will lead the team to victory next year.I think it will be different combinations of all of them , just like last year, that's why they're so fun to watch.

Re: Ok.. I am ready for basketball...

Last year, we broke a ten year jinx of the conference winner not being able to

win the conference tournement auto bid.We couldn't last year, which kept the string alive, until this last tournement, when we finally broke the jinx. That ten year stretch incuded four years in a row when Western Ill. won the conference, but couldn't participate in the big dance. How frustrating would that be.How I stumbled accross this was i was wondering how many conference losses could be absorbed & still win the conference. In eleven yrs it ranged from one loss to as many as four(twice) The conference played from 14 to the current 18 game schedule as teams came and left during that time frame.I'll bet the "old" conference members probably thought this jinx would probably have continued on, at least it looked that way for 1/2 the championship game.We didn't get rattled , & kept our composure , like we had all year long & pervailed.(sp?)

Does anyone know if there are any exhibition games planned for this year?
Shouldn't we have a couple tune ups before we take on Gonzaga & Ariz. State? When do they normally include the exhibition games to the schedule?
Last yr it was Nov 4. and Nov 9.
