  • Where to watch the game?.

Maybe this is being addressed somewhere else, but haven't seen anything. Thought I would start a thread to address venues here in the area to watch the game from.
Anybody know if any of the SF bars are doing anything special?
I heard BWW was doing something (not sure what, other than having it on).

I'm pretty sure Cubby's will have the game for those of us in Brookings. Anyone know for sure if they have the Full Court package? Based on information from another thread, it sounds like our game may not be be shown in it's entirety? Anyone know if we can avoid that problem by watching at Cubby's?

Yes, as long as your in the state of South Dakota you will see the game in it's entirety on ESPN2 (standerd def). ESPN2 HD will have the whip around coverge. If you live outside SD (like me) then you have to hope that the UWGB/LSU game is a blowout so the whip around coverge goes to the SDSU game, unless our game is a blowout, then we would get a diffrent one.

I'm guessing no. None of the games today have been in HD (its on the HD channel just with black bars on the side), it's cheaper to do 32 games in SD then in HD especially since ESPN is only showing their whip around converge on ESPN2 HD and really that's only 8 of the 32 for first round games. I'm guessing the second round will be the same way, they just brought the SD equipment to the 16 different sites.

I have Dish network and it lists the women's game as being shown in its entierty on one of the ESPN alternate channels. I'm going to have to TIVO it though as a friend and I just decided to head up to Minneapolis to watch the men's games today.

The ESPN cameras that I saw at the United Spirit Arena, are HD. Now they may not show it in HD, but the cameras are.

Re: Where to watch the game?.

ESPN has been a joke to me so far with the coverage. Whip around is not, On four channels last night they played the Marist-Virginia game until half time then they switched to a different game on one channel. At the time there were four games being played. On ESPNU they played a replay of the Texas game earlier in the day.

From seeing the crowds at some of the venue, except where the home school was playing, it would not have hurt ESPN to lift the blackouts on the alternate channels and let the country see their team playing without having to pay $75 dollars for one game on Full Court. Anybody reading this in Texas if you see Terry V. have him talk to the ESPN people and let them know of our disappointment and anger from the Jacks fans not in the coverage area for the game.

What I have confirmed as fact:

I know ROOKIES (Coach nagy was in there last night) has paid to show the game on it's own channel, in it's entirety. They will not rely on just showing whatever game ESPN2 decides to put on.

Also, if you're a Midcontinent subscriber, they confirmed that the SDSU game is their regional game and will show that game, unless it becomes a blowout.

Official start time is 6:11 CST, making it the second game to start out of the four igames that will be in the 6:00 timeslot.

Just a suggestion - to the guy who sees the game listed on Dish TV. Are you sure you get that channel? Might want to make sure that channel is available. Just didn't want you to TiVO the game and hit play and watch a blank screen (been there, done that)

Those of you outside the regional coverage area - find a sports bar that carries the ESPN FullCourt package and/or the March Madness (MMM) package. If they have those packages the game will be on it's own channel. Might want to call ahead of time to confirm the channel and that they will put it on for you.

Some Minneapolis Alums are going to meet up at Bunnies in St. Louis Park if anyone's interested. They told us that they should be able to get the full game instead of whip-around coverage.

Posted this in another thread but this one is more suited to the information:

For any of you Yankton area fans who can't attend in person there will be a Jackrabbit gathering for the game at Ben's Brewing in downtown Yankton and he doesn't even mind if we bring our cowbells!!!!!!!!!
