  • WNAX/SDSU bus to Lubbock.

Deserves its own thread. #1fan broke the news and I just talked to Steve at WNAX.

Bus will leave Saturday early from Brookings. Pick up in Sioux Falls and at the Coffee Cup on I-29 near Vermillion. Staying at the LaQuinta Inn Lubbock. Cost is $379/person double occupancy.

WNAX does a great job with these trips. Fill up this bus and then fill up another. WNAX toll free # 800-843-0089 ask for Steve Crawford or call his cell 605 857-0753. He won't mind one bit if you call his cell. If he doesn't answer leave a message.

If the bus doesn't fill up (it will) the trip is still on, cost just goes up. Single occupancy would be more, 3 or 4 to a room will likely be a little less.

Do you know which LaQuinta? Lubbock has a few of them. I booked 2 rooms at the West Med Cntr La Quinta (...in case I can go), but would definitely want to stay at the one with the most Jacks fans! Thanks.

My daughter and I are already booked. We are both really excited to go. I am glad someone did this. Now we don't have to drive by ourselves.

I'm not sure which one. Call Steve and he would be happy to let you know.

          From SDSU:

SDSU Fans! Let’s go to Lubbock with WNAX Radio for the Women’s NCAA Tournament!

          Here is what you get:

This is a 5 Day, four night trip to Lubbock, Texas.
In the event of an SDSU loss, we will stay the entire trip, attend other games / enjoy weather and local sites.
          Round trip motor coach transportation
          All-Session ticket
4 nights stay at La Quinta Inn

          How much does it cost:

There will be a sliding scale –
If we FILL the bus (54 seats), the charge will be $379 per person (double bed hotel)
If we get 45 people, the charge will be $399 per person (double bed hotel)
If we get 35 people, the charge will be $459 per person (double bed hotel)
If we get 25 people, the charge will be $549 per person (double bed hotel)

You will need a credit or debit card to make payment: Call 605-857-0753 or 800-843-0089. We will determine by Friday morning as to how much your card will be charged.

We will leave from Brookings at 5am Saturday mornings. Make stops in Sioux Falls & Vermillion. Saturday will be a travel day, arriving in Lubbock soon after insanity hits.
We will return to Brookings the same way on Wednesday.
No food included in the price, however, we will be stopping at appropriate times to eat & take bathroom breaks.

I'm sure the 4 night stay prevented most from jumping on board. Its darn hard in times like this to miss 3 days of work. I'm told you, the Sunday/Tuesday draw in Lubbock is the absolute worst for fans, the absolute worst. There is virtually no way to get into Lubbock and back to SD and not miss way to many hours on the job.

I'm just darn lucky that my partner is so willing to cover for me.

That is a tight little part of the clinic. Glad my dad is in that part.
