  • ESPN quotes from Fans about SDSU...

    Prairie View A&M Panthers: 23-10, rpi 171, SOS 322 - is on a 19 game winning streak. Think about it. They were 4-10 losing to teams we never heard of, but then they forgot how to lose! Are you scared Sooners?!?

    Western Carolina Catamounts: 21-11, rpi 100, SOS 143 - besides several bad losses early like the Panthers above, the Cats actually beat Mid. Tenn.! They were a .500 team when they forgot how to lose 10 games ago. Watch out Commodores!

    Sacred Heart Pioneers: 25-7, rpi 82, SOS 215 - is on a 21 consecutive game win streak. Sowinski is a monster. Could it be "bye-bye Buckeyes?"

    Drexel Dragons: 24-8, rpi 61, SOS 125 - has won 16 in a row. The Wildcats better be ready for this fire breathing team!

    Ball State Cardinals: 24-8, rpi 48, SOS 98, - is on an 11 game streak and isn't Volunteering to lose!

    Montana Grizzlies: 27-4, rpi 47, SOS 190, - with their 11 in a row is ready for a mountain style scrap with the Panthers.

    UW Green Bay Phoenix: 28-3, rpi 42, SOS 191, - at 21 games in a row looks as dangerous as the Pioneers. I'm not sure what they mean by Phoenix, but they could cage the those Tigers!

    South Dakota State JackRabbits: 31-2, rpi 23, SOS 131 - with 17 in a row, rumor has it, the fanbase will throw animal carcasses on the court to intimidate their opponents. I wouldn't want to be a Horned Frog right now!!

    Stanford Cardinal: 29-4, rpi 12, SOS 30 - at 16 wins straight, is right up there with the Pioneers and Phoenix and a real threat to the in-state rival Gauchos.

    Maryland Terrapins: 28-4, rpi 3, SOS 3 - has 12 wins and counting, don't let those low rpi and SOS numbers confuse you, this team really belongs here and has a chance to avenge their early, almost pre-season loss to those Horned Frogs! Watch out Big Green, the Terps could go environmental on you!

    Connecticut Huskies: 33-0, rpi 1, SOS 7, - barely hanging on to a 33 game streak, anybody could beat them on any given night, including several ESPN Forum posters, if they got together and didn't have all those injuries. Make no mistake about it, rpi is important, especially for Sooner fans, where UConn narrowly edged them out for #1, as opposed to on the court, where the Huskies ran away with the game. Be ready Vermont Catamounts, these Dogs are sick of all the teams with the same name ( ;

    Bring on the Upsets!!

    1) Can we get more smilies?

    2) that 'toss a carcass on the court' thing CAN'T be a South Dakota-only thing..... (which reminds me: according to my dad back in the 60s an SDSU player was caught getting paid under the table and at the next SDSU/Augie game all the Augie students stood up as a group and one of them tossed out a rabbit that had been stuffed with monopoly money)

        That's not his best story....

        Several SDSU students rode down to a game at Howard Wood field one Saturday (SDSU was not playing) and put Hobo Day bumper stickers on every car in the lot.

        After that, some Augie students went to a hardware store and bought a sizable quantity of "M" stickers (like what you'd put on your mailbox), and went to Brookings and put an "M" over the "B" in HOBO on every bumper sticker they could find.
