  • Summit League Championships for the Women

Since a thread has not been started for the women's tournament:

    http://www.thesummitleague.org/ViewA...ATCLID=3683265

Release from the summit league web site.

Jennifer Warkenthien leads the league in scoring (17.2) and defensive rebounds per game (6.9) for the league’s preseason favorite. Jill Young added 10.3 points, while Warkenthien leads the squad with 8.9 rebounds per game.

If Jenn is not MVP, something is seriously wrong.

I agree Jen should be MVP. Has anyone seen the weather for Saturday?

Last I looked it was actually going to be fairly decent. Upper 30's, slight chance of light snow.

Rep points. Made me laugh out loud! That's one forecast that will be hit.

so if games are on metro sports, why won't a local station like KSFY grab that feed, so we can have more than just the championship televised.

They played down to us because I think our pressure (defense) surprised them a little bit. I'm proud of our girls. We gave it our best shot."

You don't think the coach of ORU is trying to set us up do you? I'm sure he's cook'n something up right now for another "best shot".

Just speculation on my part, but similar to NFL games NOT being televised locally (blackout), as they want you to go to the game as opposed to watch it for free. IF you can get KSFY, then you should be at the game, IMHO. This is an exciting time for SDSU and SD WBB. Go and watch the games! Even if I was in Colorado, I bet I would be making this trip. No, I can't get KSFY in Colorado, and definitely not at my current location either.

You guys wouldn't mind throwing the championship game to Oakland, would you? If you guys lose to Oakland, you'll still get into the NCAA tourney, Oakland would get the NCAA autobid, and NDSU would get the WNIT autobid as the highest ranked Summit team not in the NCAA tourney. Surely you could give a little help to your Dakota sibling. Right? Please? Pretty please?

Sorry, The Jacks don't throw anything but three pointers. If the Bison want the WNIT they are going to have to get it the old fashioned way. Earn it.

                      With sugar on top???

Uh, no. I'm not sure there's a bribe out there big enough, Hammersmith! Nice try, though!

Not sure where to put this, but on a more serious thought ... due to "employment issues", this has been the first year in many that I have not made it to Brookings for even one football or basketball game. And being less than 60-miles away has made it suck even worse. This board has been my main source of following the Jacks this year and I just wanna say thanks to everybody for your insights and opinions, and being my lifeline to the Jacks this year!

I CAN'T WAIT to get to the Arena Saturday morning!

                      GO JACKS!!!

                              WARNING Off Topic-

The Wisconsin women have now moved into the semi-finals in the Big 10 tournament. Looks like the RPI could creep a little higher..
