Warkenthien Player of the Week

Warkenthien earns Player of the Week honors after leading No. 21 South Dakota State to league road victories at Southern Utah and UMKC last week. She averaged 22.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 blocks per game. Her 28 points against the Thunderbirds were one shy of a career-high and she has now scored in double figures in eight consecutive games. On the week, Warkenthien also shot 76.2 percent (16-21) from the field, 50 percent (3-6) from behind the arc and 100 percent (10-10) from the line.

Congratulations to Jenn! With the balance and way that we play (i.e., even top players only top about 20-25 minutes a game many times), it is hard to make the conference's POTW. Besides her stats, Jenn does so much in setting the tone and powering up when we need it...she should be the player of the year in the Summit.

Jenn is showing the rest of the league exactly the type of scorer she can be every game. She just doesn't have to do it every game with the talent this team has. Very unselfish player and a great example for her teammates. Very nice honor for Jenn.
